KUALA LUMPUR, 18 May – The 22nd Private & International School Fair was held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from May 17 to 18, attracting parents who hoped to find suitable educational resources for their children.
The fair was hosted by Mint Communications and brought together more than 70 exhibitors, covering well-known international schools, special educational needs (SEN) institutions, boarding schools, overseas education institutions and extracurricular enhancement centres.
Mint Communications Co-founder and Director Michele Lam said that the demand for international schools among Malaysian parents continues to grow, mainly due to the trend of English as the medium of instruction. “The recently in increasing demand because of the medium of instruction being English, and parents prefer their children to be proficient in English.”
“This fair is also different from previous ones. For the first time, we have set up an interactive learning experience area designed specifically for children – Fun Kids Explorer,” she added.
Teras Murni International School Secondary Coordinator Miya said that the fair provided them with a platform to interact directly with their target parents. “We have just transformed from a private school to an international school. This fair allows us to interact more directly with parents and let them know about us.”
She also pointed out that this year has been significantly upgraded in terms of scales and layout: “This is our third time participating in this fair. In the past, the booths were relatively small, but this year is our largest booth so far.”
Help International School Senior Teacher Nissa said that the fair provided them with the opportunity to communicate face-to-face with students and parents. “Through the engagement, students can understand what actually happens in the school’s curriculum and academics.”
She pointed out that Help International School participated in this fair almost every year and believes that this year is more targeted than the previous year. “This year focuses more on primary, secondary and A-Level students.”
The fair not only showcased more schools than ever before but also provided more details and strengthened the connections between educators and parents.
