BANGI, 18 October — Indonesian students at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) who are members of the Indonesian Student Association (PPI UTP) conducted a comparative study at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia campus on Oct 18. In addition to strengthening solidarity among students, this activity also serves as an opportunity for exchanging insights on organizational management, student leadership, and how to develop academic potential at their respective campuses.

The visit was held at the UKMSHAPE Meeting Hall and involved both parties participating in a discussion session on strategies for maintaining the sustainability of activities and strengthening the role of PPI as a forum for Indonesian students abroad to voice their aspirations. The session began with an introduction of the administrators, work programs, and strategies surrounding the dynamics of activities at each campus.
This activity is a routine program of the Indonesian Student Association, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPI UKM) which is held every three months. The program is called “EXIT (Exploration Visit)” and aims to be a forum for learning, knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and strengthening networks among Indonesian students at various universities around the world. Prior to the EXIT event with PPI UTP, PPI UKM had already conducted this activity with PPI Monash University and PPI Amsterdam.
The President of PPI UKM and student from the Faculty of Sains and Technology, Rajendra Anselmo, in his welcoming speech conveyed PPI UKM's efforts in fostering a spirit of collaboration among Indonesian students across campuses around the world. "Hopefully, through this EXIT (Exploration Visit) activity with PPI UTP, PPI Amsterdam, and PPI Monash, we can all exchange insights, experiences, and inspiration in developing our organizations and strengthening relations between PPI chapters. The hope is that this collaboration will be the first step in continuing to grow together and strengthen the network of Indonesian students both at home and abroad."
Muhammad Ziyan, a participant from PPI UKM and a student from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, shared that the most valuable takeaway from the program was the importance of building connections. “Connections are the key. From connections, we can find new opportunities. Before EXIT, I didn’t know anyone from Monash University, but through this program, I got to meet them. Because of EXIT, there’s even a chance to connect with PPI Amsterdam in the future. The lesson is simple: connections create opportunities, and opportunities open more connections,” he said.

To conclude the event, participants took part in a friendly mini soccer match between the PPI UKM team and the PPI UTP team. The EXIT program ended on a warm note, leaving behind a simple yet meaningful message: that collaboration is not only built through discussion, but also through moments of togetherness that foster a strong sense of solidarity.
