SUNWAY, 19 Dec — A year-end Christmas market and New Year countdown event is being held in the Sunway Square Mall from Dec. 19, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026, offering daily festive activities starting at 4 p.m. and attracting members of the public during the holiday season.

The event features more than 50 food and craft stalls, along with DIY workshops and live music performances. According to the organizers, the market runs continuously for 17 days, allowing visitors to take part in different activities throughout the festive period.

An event coordination staff member of Sunway Square Mall, Lee Bin Hong, said preparations were made in advance to manage the extended duration of the event. “Because the market runs across Christmas and New Year, we planned the layout and activity schedule carefully to make sure visitors can move around comfortably,” he said.

Lee added that daily surprise tasks were introduced to encourage repeat visits. “There are different activities each day, so visitors who come back can have a slightly different experience,” he said.

The year-end celebrations will also include a New Year’s Eve outdoor countdown party on Dec. 31, starting at 11.45 p.m., held near the lakeside area in Sunway. The countdown event is open to the public and is expected to draw larger crowds as the new year approaches.

An on-site operations staff member of Sunway Square Mall, Tee Juen Siang, said additional measures were taken to maintain order during peak hours. “We have staff stationed at key areas to guide visitors and monitor crowd flow, especially during the New Year’s Eve countdown,” he said.

The organizers said the year-end market and countdown activities aim to provide a public space for families and friends to gather and celebrate the festive season. The event is scheduled to continue until early January.
