BANGI, 12 October — As the new academic year begins, a wave of enthusiastic Indonesian students has arrived at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). To warmly welcome them, the Indonesian Students Association (PPI UKM) held its annual Mahasiswa Baru Day (MABA Day) 2025 on Saturday, 12 October.

The event marked a joyful and spirited start to campus life, aiming to introduce new students to their faculties, the UKM environment, and the vibrant Indonesian student community.

Graced by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Azahan Awang, a key figure in UKM’s Student Affairs Department, and Dr. Edy Herianto Majlan, the advisor of PPI UKM, the celebration reflected the university’s continuous support for cross-cultural engagement and student development. Both representatives expressed appreciation for PPI UKM’s efforts in fostering unity and leadership among Indonesian students.

Carrying a warm and lively atmosphere, the event featured interactive games and the highlight session known as TW TW (Tukar Wawasan), where senior students from various faculties shared experiences, tips, and insights with the newcomers.

The session reflected a strong sense of mentorship and camaraderie, bridging connections between juniors and seniors.

“MABA Day is one of our key programs to ensure that new students adapt well and feel connected from the very beginning. It’s more than just an introduction to UKM, it’s about building a family among Indonesian students,” said Ahmad Gezy, a Business and Administration student (Batch 2024) and leader of the organizing committee.

A participant, Azzahra Kamila, a student of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Batch 2025), shared her excitement after joining the event. “MABA Day was super fun! I got to meet so many new friends and learn more about life at UKM. The seniors were really friendly and welcoming, and the games made everything even more enjoyable,” she said.

The event concluded with a group photo session, symbolizing the unity and enthusiasm of the Indonesian student community.

Through MABA Day 2025, PPI UKM once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for Indonesian students, helping them start their academic journey with confidence, connection, and cultural pride.
